Juan Pablo specializes in Venture Capital, Corporate, and M&A affairs. He regularly advises startups and early-stage companies in both preparing for their fundraising rounds from Pre-Seed to Series A and B, and venture capital funds leading the due-diligence procedures and investment rounds in such target companies. Juan Pablo also advises clients on the structuring of their companies both in the United States and off-shore jurisdictions, in preparation for their operating expansion and growth.
Before joining NEXT Legal, his past endeavors include consulting services for a California-based Angel Investor, by participating in the structuring of Venture Capital Funds, and over 100 direct investments in early-stage Startups. Juan Pablo has also served as the Head of the Legal Department for one of Colombia’s largest single-family offices, handling cross-border investment transactions ranging from Seed Rounds to Series B, and C, preparing Term Sheets for future ventures, and investments in Private Equity, Growth, and Hedge Funds. He has also worked in the legal department of Colombia´s largest media conglomerate for over 2 years in ESG and corporate matters, and in leading regional firms in Latin America.
He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of California, Berkeley, with a certificate of specialization in Business Law, a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and a Postgraduate Degree in Business Law from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. He is fluent in Spanish, and English, and conversational in Italian and French.

- The Argentine Provinces of Mendoza, Chubut, Salta, Entre Rios and Chaco, in their New York law-governed debt restructurings
- Raghsa S.A., a leading Argentine real estate developer, in its liability management transactions
